DOCTOR'S DEGREE

Stage 1: ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

Applications for participation in the PhD doctoral program are accepted through the information system of the National Testing Center from July 8 to August 3, 2021. To apply for participation in the entrance exam to the doctoral program, the applicant must go to the website app.testcenter.kz and register in the system.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTRATION AND FILING

Registration for the subsequent passing of the entrance exam is allowed 1 (one) time; repeated registration on the NTC website is not allowed.

The documents are accepted on the NTC website, the applicant fills in personal data, chooses 1 (one) university for admission to doctoral studies and 1 (one) groups of educational programs, chooses the place of passing the entrance exam.

Information about the place and time of the exam will be available after August 4 this year in the applicant's personal account.

Stage 2: ENTRANCE EXAMS

Entrance exams for groups of educational programs for doctoral studies are held from August 4 to August 20 of this year.

The entrance exam to the doctoral program is conducted on the basis of the Regional Testing Center in a computer format.

The duration of the entrance exam is 4 hours, during which the applicant writes an essay, passes a test for readiness to study in doctoral studies, answers an electronic examination ticket consisting of 3 questions..

The maximum score for the entrance exam is 100 points, of which the essay is 20 points, the test for readiness to study is 30 points, the exam on the profile of the group of educational programs is 50 points.

Stage 3: ENROLLMENT

ENROLLMENT AND ADMISSION UNDER THE STATE EDUCATIONAL ORDER (EDUCATIONAL GRANT)

Enrollment – until August 28 of the current year.

The admission of persons to the PhD program is carried out:

•  on the basis of an international certificate confirming the proficiency in a foreign language in accordance with the pan-European competencies (standards) of foreign language proficiency;
•  according to the results of the entrance exam according to the profile of the group of educational programs of the doctoral program and who scored at least 50 points out of a possible 100 points..

Enrollment of persons in the PhD doctoral program for training under the state educational order:

•  on a competitive basis, persons who have scored the highest points on the entrance exam are enrolled;
•  on a competitive basis, persons who have scored at least 75 pointson the entrance exam are enrolled.

In the case of identical indicators of competitive points, the persons who have the highest score in the profile of the group of the educational program receive the preferential right to enroll in the doctoral program.

Then scientific achievements corresponding to the profile of the educational program are taken into account: scientific publications, including in rating scientific publications included in the 1st, 2nd quartile according to the Journal Citation Reports of the Web of science database of Clarivate Analytics for the last 3 calendar years; certificates of scientific developments; certificates of awarding scientific scholarships, grants; certificates / diplomas for participation in scientific conferences and competitions.

PROGRAMS OF PREREQUISITES FOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

When entering the doctoral program, if the profile of the educational program of the doctoral program does not match with the educational program of higher education, the prerequisites for mastering are set for the doctoral student. Applicants are allowed to master them independently and take exams on a paid basis after passing the entrance exams. The programs of prerequisites for the educational programs of the doctoral program are developed with the corresponding departments.
