Description of the educational program

The program is designed to implement the principles of democratic education management, expanding the boundaries of academic freedom and authority of educational institutions, which will ensure the training of elite, highly motivated staff for innovative and knowledge-intensive sectors of the economy.

The educational program provides an individual approach to students, ensures the transformation of professional competences from professional and qualification standards to learning outcomes. Student-centered learning is provided – the principle of education which assumes a shift of emphasis in the educational process from teaching (as the main role of the teaching staff in the "transmission" of knowledge) to learning (as an active educational activity of the student).

The educational program "Computer security" provides practice-oriented training of graduates in the field of creation, use and protection of information technologies intended for work in various industries and in business.

A computer security specialist is an employee engaged in providing computer security at the enterprise. The main activity of a computer security specialist is related to protecting computer systems and means of processing, storing and transmitting information; information security services; mathematical models of processes that occur in data protection.

Aim and objectives of the educational program

The aim of the EP is to provide practice-oriented training of graduates in the field of creation, use and protection of information technologies intended for work in various industries and businesses.

The objectives of the EP:

  1. To prepare graduates for professional activities in the field of protection of applications and programs from modifications.
  2. To provide the market with computer security specialists.
  3. To create conditions for ongoing professional self-improvement.
  4. To create conditions for the development of the graduates’ social and personal qualities (ambition, self-discipline, hard work, communication skills, ability to work in a team, responsibility for the final result of professional activities, civic responsibility, tolerance), social mobility and competitiveness in the labor market.
Requirements for the learning outcomes of the educational program

The following forms of exams are used as an assessment of learning outcomes: computer test, written exam (paper-and-pen), oral exam, project (presenting a course project), practical (open questions on the computer, solving tasks on the computer), comprehensive (test/written/oral+others). According to Table 1 the following ratio of exam forms is recommended for the disciplines ending in the state exams: "Algorithmic languages and programming", "Cryptographic methods of data protection", "Corporate cybersecurity" and "Protection of database management systems":
